YQCA - Youth for the Quality Care of Animals
Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) is a new national, multi-species youth livestock quality assurance program that covers food safety, animal well-being, and character development through age-appropriate educational curriculum. This is a annual training, as the learning modules change each year.
Any Miami or Linn County 4-H/FFA exhibitors planning on showing market and/or breeding livestock (Beef, Sheep, Meat Goats, and Swine) are required to complete this training. Youth can complete the training online or by attending an in-person training.
All YQCA trainings must be completed by June 15th to show at the Miami County Fair, Linn County Fair, Kansas State Fair, and/or Kansas Junior Livestock Show.
Exhibitors who state nominate animals will upload a copy of their YQCA certificate into ShoWorks when they submit the first animal of their nominations, so you may need to complete this training earlier than the above deadline.
