I Dare You Leadership Award

This award was started by the William H. Danforth in 1941. It aimed to recognize those youth who exhibit leadership and citizenship in their club, community and school. The award was a small book by William H. Danforth entitled “I Dare You”.

In the Marais des Cygnes District, the award has evolved to a journal and certificate. This is due to rising costs and the book no longer being available.

To apply for the I Dare You Leadership Award, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Be 14 years of age by Jan. 1 of the current year
2. Show leadership abilities in his/her club, community.
3. Have demonstrated excellence in Character.
