4-H Club Day

The Marais des Cygnes District 4-H Club Day is an annual competition which features events in Public Presentations, Parliamentary Presentations and Talent Presentations.  4-H’ers can compete in group and individual events.  Below are the events offered and the guidelines and scoresheet for each event.

4-H Club Day Event Overview 2018

Model Meetings: club event in which you present a mock club meeting. Model Meetings are judged on correct parliamentary procedure.

Project Talks: Individual talk about a project you are enrolled in. Only for 7-13 year olds.

Public Speaking: Individual speech around a given topic that are persuasive, entertaining, informational or inspiring.  Only for 14-18 year olds.

Multimedia Presentations: Individual or teams of 2 who use electronic visual aids. (ex. Powerpoint, Prezi, Video).

Oral Interpretation/Readings: Individual or duo dramatic presentations that are readings from a book or written work.  No Costumes allowed.

Impromptu: Individual presentation about a topic that is drawn that day.  No prior prep needed.

Historical Speech: An Individual speech that is a portion of a speech given by someone else in a historical setting.

Career Exploration Presentation: NEW!! Research a Career; then write a 1-page essay and present a 3- minute speech on that career.

Show & Share:  Non-competitive event for Cloverbuds (ages 5-6).  They bring something into share with the judge. (Can be a toy, craft, etc).
